Meeting oBjectives
Ongoing global efforts coordinated by a team within the RDA secretariat are developing strategies to improve the dissemination, impact, and evaluation of RDA recommendations and outputs. 
These efforts fall within three overarching aims:
1) Enhanced discoverability and intelligibility of RDA recommendations, outputs, and adoption stories
2) Adoption support through education material development
3) Monitoring and Evaluation of adoption impact 
Activities for improving the dissemination of adoption stories include development of video material surrounding each adoption project, standardized metadata and metrics for each adoption story, standardized packet write ups for each adoption story, and clear pathways for the community to communicate their adoption projects to the rest of RDA.
The objective of this session will be to:
— Inform the community of ongoing efforts surrounding the first and third aim to improve discoverability, intelligibility, and overall dissemination of RDA adoption stories and improve communication of successes and lessons learned. 
— Engage the community in discussing what expectations and inputs might be reasonable activities and responsibilities for groups adopting outputs, as well as define next steps.

15 min: Introduction of U.S. and Global Adoption Strategy
–Ongoing global efforts
–EU 4 and NSF supported adoption
–Webinars and etc
–Lessons learned in formalizing dissemination of adoption stories
–Next steps
45 min: Activity/Discussion: 
–What expectations are required of the adopters to fulfill this strategy for the RDA community, including such questions as:
–What are the WG expectations of feedback from adopters?
–What are adopters expectation of support and feedback from WG?
–How can RDA package these?
Discuss proposed avenues moving forward including:
–Standardize metadata or metrics
–Adoption story and video
–Collaboration and feedback to WG
–Coordination on a global and regional level
30 min: Define next steps and responsibilities
 
Short description
Much of this work has grown from activities within the RDA Secretariat throughout the previous year. Regional meetings with RDA leadership, co-chairs, and adopters have provided opportunities for community feedback and critique. Our aim currently is to engage the larger global community in these efforts.

Proposed Session Audience
Any members with previous experience or current interest in adopting RDA outputs or recommendations. In addition, community members, particularly WG co-chairs, interested in strategies for how to more effectively collect and disseminate adoption stories, successes, and lessons learned.
