Domain Repositories IGBrief introduction describing the activities and scope of the group
The Social Science Research Data Interest Group has been established and held it’s first meeting as an adopted IG in Helsinki in October 2019. This IG has three core activities which are our priority areas for development:quality of data: finding automated ways to investigate and provide information on quality
data policy: aligning – and wherever simplify – data policies and their implications for making data available and for using data.
sensitive data: estimates are that over 40% of the data in our community is too sensitive to make them openly available without any restrictions or measures.

The Social Science Research Data Interest Group has been established and held it’s first meeting as an adopted IG in Helsinki in October 2019. This IG has three core activities which are our priority areas for development:
quality of data: finding automated ways to investigate and provide information on quality
data policy: aligning – and wherever simplify – data policies and their implications for making data available and for using data.
sensitive data: estimates are that over 40% of the data in our community is too sensitive to make them openly available without any restrictions or measures.
The emphasis of the IG meeting in Helsinki was on prioritising these three areas, and establishing next steps for the group’s activities. To this end, the group is now working to establish a joint working group on data quality.
The objective of this meeting ]is a focus on the third objective – that of managing and sharing sensitive data, in the social science and related communities such as health and medical research, and cultural data communities. This will therefore be a focussed meeting seeking to establish a work agenda for the group around requirements for the management of sensitive data.Privacy Policy
