Report of Dagstuhl Seminar “Reproducibility of Data-oriented Experiments in eScience”

Discussion

Juliana Freire, Norbert Fuhr and myself organnized a 1-week Dagstuhl Seminar earlier this year trying to create a joint understanding of the problems of reproducibility of experiments, discuss existing solutions and impediments, and propose ways to overcome current limitations. The report of the seminar has now been made available via the Dagstuhl Reports at
http://drops.dagstuhl.de/opus/volltexte/2016/5817/
It provides an overview of a number of tools supporting reproducibility, discusses different levels of reproducibility and what we gain by obtaining them, aspects of what makes a reproducibility study worth publishing, and others – with a focus (and limitation) on computational aspects and settings.
We would be very interested in hearing feedback on these aspects and see how they might help activities within this IG.
best regards,
Andreas
