Help CODATA deliver on its strategy to mobilise the data revolution for research!
The CODATA strategy comprises three elements: promoting open data principles, policy and practices; advancing the frontiers of data science and building data capacity, particularly in LMICs: http://bit.ly/CODATA-Strategy
A key element of CODATA’s activity is to support and promote the Science International Accord on Open Data in a Big Data World http://www.icsu.org/science-international/accord
The Call is now open for nominations for CODATA Officers and Executive Committee Members to be elected at the next CODATA General Assembly, 11 September 2016 in Denver, CO., USA, at the beginning of International Data Week http://www.internationaldataweek.org/
Please find attached a letter from CODATA Past President, Professor GUO Huadong inviting nominations for role of Secretary General, Treasurer and eight ordinary Executive Committee members. Nominations should be submitted by CODATA Members or Task Groups and Working Groups on the form attached, to the Nominating Committee, c/o ***@***.***, by the deadline of 1 April 2016.
The most important criteria for nomination is to be able to contribute strongly to the delivery of CODATA’s strategy. The covering note to the nomination form and the procedure document explain terms of eligibility.
Please note that closer consultation of the CODATA constitution has revealed that the current Secretary General, Sara Graves, is not eligible for reelection, having served for ten years on the CODATA Executive Committee. We are extremely grateful to Sara for her committed service over this time!
CODATA members should be aware of this and it has been corrected in the supporting documentation attached.
