Sorry!

Sorry, troops! After 12 days of chemical prep, I had most of my face frozen with LN2 on Wed. I thought i would be over the discomfort, but as usual the corps medical lied to me. The pain reminds me of what you feel after spending a day in a blizzard, and it does not go away. So I did not sleep much. Of course, one inconvenience does not come alone —clustering in Poisson processes— and my car would not get into gear and I discovered this morning (before sunrise of course, since I cannot be in the sun) that the hydraulic fluid had leaked so i had to take it to the garage…but that assumed that I first should recharge the battery that died overnight, for not good reason. So I am back home, after taking the car to the garage, and am waiting for the doctor’s office to call me about what I can do about the permanent discomfort.
A friend told me “HTFU, pretend you are doing field work in Antarctica” (google the abbreviation!) but pain in the filed somehow is easier to take than pain in the home…It’s like swimming in a 16C ocean,….much easier than taking a 16C bath in the bathtub!
Anyway, I’ll be OK. Here is a picture. Marked improvement, right? ….. No? I did not think so either! I feel terrible for people who have had serious burns, and me complaining about a little treatment that celebrities undergo for cosmetic purposes!
    Best-
    Bernard
