heads up for TAB. An item that I introduced at our post-P6 TAB meeting – this **IG** has output “products” and
a schedule to complete the work.
I note that we are not “qualified” to review so we need to discuss a mechanism to facilitate dissemination and comment
from RDA members, what it looks like going forward/ up.
    What does endorsement look like.
This group has indicated to me they do not consider these “final” products/ outputs but expect to respond further to inputs, etc.
Also after this schedule, they are planning a WG – not sure of the specific topic.

    Dear Paul, Peter; all;
That process and schedule is fine by me. I will send it to the CODATA Executive Committee and selected experts in the CODATA community for review and feedback according to the schedule laid out.
    Best wishes,
    Simon.

    Dear Peter and Simon,
As you know, we are close to completing the draft of the Implementation Guidelines for the Principles on the Legal Interoperability of Research Data. The draft Principles themselves were completed earlier this year.
The RDA-CODATA Interest Group co-chairs and members have discussed in our weekly conference calls the process and schedule for your organizations’ review. We propose to send both documents to RDA and CODATA for review by Friday, December 4. We would like to have all review comments for the consideration and further work of the RDA-CODATA Interest Group by the middle of January, say, Monday, the 11th. We can then respond to all review comments and make any revisions in time for the P7 RDA con! ference in Japan in early March. We also will send the documents for informal review on the same schedule to several legal experts that the members of the Interest Group themselves identify.
Our intention is to test the Principles and Implementation Guidelines after the P7 meeting with some research data consortia and projects that are affiliated with your organizations and that are willing to try them out. Their experiences and input will be valuable for finalizing the documents by P8 and then releasing them more generally to the research community. We would expect to actively disseminate them internationally in the months after P8.
At this point, we would like to get your views in writing on this suggested process and schedule. If we could get your responses by Monday, November 23rd, we could discuss them in our weekly telephone conference calls and iterate any possible questions or discrepancies with you prior to submitting the do! cuments for your review on December the 4th.
    Best wishes,
Paul, Enrique, and Bob, and the members of the RDA-CODATA Interest Group

    Dear all:
As you know, we are in the final stages of completing the Principles for
the Legal Interoperability of Research Data, and the accompanying
Implementation Guidelines. We were expecting to complete and transmit them
to RDA and CODATA to initiate the review by this Friday, the 4th. The
schedule has slipped a few days and we now assume that we can deliver the
documents no later than next Tuesday, the 8th. We hope that the review
schedule can still stay on track for the middle of January so that we can
respond with a changed and completed text prior to P7. We still plan to
beta test the documents between P7 and P8, and release them more broadly
    after next September.
    Best wishes,
The Co-chairs of the Legal Interoperability IG
