Adrian BurtonParticipantHi everyone,
I have just put in a session request for the RDA Montreal Plenary for the
National Data Services Interest Group.
A little closer to the time we will need to add in some detail on which
lightning talks to chose and what theme for the group discussion.
If you are intending on attending the Montreal plenary, please let us know
– it would be good to hear a lightning talk on your plans/progress/updates
towards a national data service.
We’ll probably run a video conference in August/September to review
progress on the national reports project and garner ideas for the plenary
in October.
cheers

I indicated above).
So let’s schedule the planning meeting for mid-late August.

Miho FunamoriMemberHi Mark,
I have looked into the Summary for the National Reports and found out that Japan is still not included.
The Japan’s country report is here. I would appreciate it if you could include this also into the Summary.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QYg9pfxk3tcMjA2fnPjOMYKDr6yBJjwgUyoQ…
As for the Montreal meeting, I’m not able to attend. However, a colleague of our institute, Prof. Hideaki Takeda, will attend the National Data Service Session.
I’m sorry for the additional work in the last minute… You may also add the Japan’s report after the conference.
Best wishes,
Miho

RDA AdminOrganizerHi Miho,
I apologize for the confusion. My intention was to add your report to the folder and provide someone on your team with edit access to the document to integrate that information into the Summary document. It seems that second step of adding edit access was not done. If you let me know who that should be I will add them.
We can also discuss this at the session tomorrow to make sure Japan’s information is added.

Hi all,
for the Montreal plenary next week, here is our current plan:
– Intro and background to working group (for newcomers) (5 mins) (Mark)
– Lightning talks (10 mins each):
1. (US) National Data Service (Christine/ Bob)
2. Research Data Canada (Mark et al)
3. Swedish National Data Service (Ville)
-Discussion:
* what services can be in scope for a national data service?
* what organisational models work for a national data service?
– National Reports project (where to next?) (Mark or other)
If you are attending the Montreal plenary and would like to provide a lightning update on your progress towards establishing a national service please contact Mark through this mail-list before Friday.
Any other suggestions for the agenda of the meeting?
cheers,
Adrian

Hi Miho,
I apologize for the confusion. My intention was to add your report to the folder and provide someone on your team with edit access to the document to integrate that information into the Summary document. It seems that second step of adding edit access was not done. If you let me know who that should be I will add them.
We can also discuss this at the session tomorrow to make sure Japan’s information is added.
