Dear all,
Thanks very much Matt for this breakdown – that’s really helpful.
The cost differential speaks in favour of Denver and Fran’s news is reassuring. I can also see some of the location attractions for Denver.
Some other thoughts:
I remain concerned about the need to have meals in the plenary venue – how exactly will we make that work? Do I understand that the clash is just for part of the week (i.e. Weds-Fri)?
Although these were the original preferred dates, I do wonder if other dates might be considered? How many extra blocked rooms would this require? It may help us avoid a clash with the World Data Forum for the development community.
I still think some of the per unit costs for catering, even at Denver, are still high and I wonder whether this might be negotiated down at bit?
I do recognise that there is a majority that seems to be in favour of Denver and so we will get wholeheartedly behind that choice of venue and make this a huge success.
Best wishes,
Simon.
