I have to admit that I am not in favor of importing a photographers from Europe when there is a Phtography department at the University of Denver, and some very good commercial photographers in Denver. Bernard

    Hi all,
I had the action item to gather a few photographer names for the group by Wednesday. I still have some work to do on this front but expect to have information for the group on time. Simon and Mustapha, does Wednesday still work for you?
    Thanks,
    Lynn

Mustapha and I lean heavily towards using our suggestion (Andjani Gatzweiler) for SciDataCon as well as the CODATA GA and the WDS Members Forum. We think this would be a good an cost effective solution for the week and would prefer to share the cost. Please let us know as we would like to make arrangements ASAP.

I agree. We should get a local US photographer or crowd-source the photography. We have not really used these consistently for marketing for RDA so it is hard to justify a serious expense.

    Hi all,
I would be very grateful if Lynn can source some alternatives with costs as soon as possible so we can compare prices.
My view is that a photographic record is important; I have very rarely seen crowdsourced photography work well and it imposes an organisational overhead.
I have a strong preference for working with someone I know who is a good photographer and will provide the photos efficiently. I am happy to compare the overall cost, but would like to do so soon.
If RDA does not want to invest in this for the plenary, that’s fine. But I think Mustapha and I agree that a good photographic record is important for SciDataCon and the other events.
    Best wishes,
    Simon.

RDA/US is happy to share expenses and get pictures but let’s locally source this and keep costs low. I know that Lynn is following up on this and really appreciate the effort.
