We recently learned of the upcoming International Data Forum in Denver, and are very interested in participating this year. We’ll be sending some of our teammates as attendees, but I also want to ask if you’d be willing to consider our proposal for having our Chief Product Officer, Jon Loyens, present a sess! ion to the group (see attached for abstract), and/or join as a panelist for one of the panel discussions. I understand that this is a late submission, but the abstract aligns well with the focus of this year’s Forum and we believe it will be a value-add for the attendees, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask!

FWIW, we talked to data.world back in early June about IDW and RDA. It is interesting that they are just writing now? I do have a telecom with data.world tomorrow afternoon to use as a follow up for whatever we decide. Booth sounds like a good path, the abstract seems like it could easily fall into the ‘pitch’ space.

To close the loop on this, I just got off the phone with Len and Carolee from data.world. I let them know that we weren’t able to accommodate Gabriela’s request to include Jon as a speaker, but that we looked forward to working with them as a sponsor or participant in IDW.
They said they would pass the info along, though we should also follow up formally with an email. Simon, should I take care of this or will you follow up?

So to summarize – I will follow up tomorrow with data.world and let them know that, while we appreciate their interest and proposal, the IDF program is not an appropriate venue for this particular talk. We would instead encourage them to become IDW sponsors (sans booth) and participate in sessions throughout the week.
Can we afford space for a table rather than a booth? Can we offer a poster space? Otherwise, happy with this.

FWIW, we talked to data.world back in early June about IDW and RDA. It is interesting that they are just writing now? I do have a telecom with data.world tomorrow afternoon to use as a follow up for whatever we decide. Booth sounds like a good path, the abstract seems like it could easily fall into the ‘pitch’ space.

We recently learned of the upcoming International Data Forum in Denver, and are very interested in participating this year. We’ll be sending some of our teammates as attendees, but I also want to ask if you’d be willing to consider our proposal for having our Chief Product Officer, Jon Loyens, present a sess! ion to the group (see attached for abstract), and/or join as a panelist for one of the panel discussions. I understand that this is a late submission, but the abstract aligns well with the focus of this year’s Forum and we believe it will be a value-add for the attendees, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask!
