I have now talked separately with the three speakers in the “Data Stories” post-lunch session.
Christine White will discuss things having to do with collection and dissemination of near-real time data and display on geospatial platforms
Jane Hunter will discuss massive citizen science efforst to map coral bleaching in the Great Bareer Reef, and integrating such data with airborne and satellite observations.
Unni Karunakara if pointing out that NSF is the first NGO to endorse data sharing as a policy, but highlight the difficulty of dealing with issues that are properly “big data” problems, with precious little data.
I have asked each of them to send me a title. Do we have a deadline for that?
