    Dear colleagues,
I came across these articles in the BBC, The Guardian, DigitalHealth
BBC article on “Sale of NHS data up to government, says tech boss”
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-67254010
The Guardian article on “Everything you need to know about NHS England’s biggest ever IT contract
What is the contract for? Which firms are in the running? And why are there privacy concerns about the deal?”
    https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/oct/12/everything-you-need-to-k…
DigitalHealth article on “Palantir CEO acknowledges FDP could aid NHS data being sold in future”
    https://www.digitalhealth.net/2023/10/palantir-ceo-acknowledges-fdp-coul…
Reading these articles, I have some queries.
What steps is the UK Government taking to protect privacy of UK citizen’s data?  What is UKRI’s policy on this?
Are the current UK Government’s AI policies favouring “AI of the Billionaires, by the Billionaires, for the Billionaires!” to rule humanity?
    https://www.rd-alliance.org/group/igad-community-practice/post/are-curre…“ai-billionaires-billionaires
The UK government’s credibility on AI regulation is dependent on the UK government’s ability to deliver a world-leading regulatory framework and laws in the UK. The EU is well ahead in global AI leadership with its E.U.’s AI Act.
What are the views of all UK Political parties on AI legislation? Came across this article in today’s Independent
“Labour vows to force firms developing powerful AI to meet requirements”
    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-rishi-sunak-prime-
EU is working on the EU AI Act to protect EU citizens. USA has Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence.
What laws and regulations is the UK government developing for the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence?
Are there any laws being developed in the UK similar to EU AI Act to protect UK citizens?
Governments need to regulate the Big Tech to protect democracy, protect human rights and prevent corruption.
    Best wishes
