Dear Data policy standardisation and implementation IG members,
You are invited to participate in the July Research Data Alliance ‘Thematic Community Cross-Fertilisation Workshop’. Our group’s Co-Chairs will present the work of our group and engage in discussion about priorities and potential collaboration opportunities around the theme of research data policy and research evaluation. With prominent initiatives focused on research evaluation (assessment) being established in the last few months, such as the Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), and a new RDA Interest Group on Research Evaluation, this is a particularly important and timely topic.
    * Register for the workshop here: RDA for Research Evaluation – Thursday 27 July at 07:00-08:30 UTC.
    * Read more about the RDA’s 10th Anniversary event series and upcoming community cross-fertilisation workshops.
Also, I’m delighted to introduce you to Dagmar Meyer, European Research Council Executive Agency, as our newest Co-Chair. Our group has been collaborating with research funder representatives since its inception, and in the last 1-2 years has been exploring opportunities for policy alignment or mutual reinforcement between publishers and funders to support good, and increased, data sharing practices. As such we are thrilled to have Dagmar, who has been a member of the group for some time, join as a Co-Chair – as we explore the next priorities for the group after the last RDA Plenary.
    Kind regards,
    Iain
