    A brief summary of the current methods that the US National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) provides data and metadata. Data granules are essentially file folders containing data and metadata for one data product, one field site, and one month. The presentation addresses the convenience and concerns with the current granularity, and future directions that may be considered.
