Support from Sloan

Hi all,
Earlier today I had a very positive chat with Josh Greenburg.
Sloan are keen to support International Data Week. As previously flagged they do not normally simply do ‘sponsorship’ of events (though Josh will be checking this with his president later today).
However, they can support catering, receptions and speaker and student/early career travel. The latter should improve diversity and access.
Josh said that it is relatively easy for him to commit up to 20K USD and that is likely to be the figure we would receive. He did ask whether more would be needed. If so a more involved approval procedure would be required. Naturally, I said that more would always be welcome, but I think he would be reluctant to go down that route.
He will get back to clarify precisely what they will be able to fund (whether blanket sponsorship is an option). He is most keen in supporting the International Data Forum both through the dinner and speaker / student travel.
It is likely then that we will need to:
1) prepare a high level budget of the things that we would want Sloan to cover (lunch, reception etc, and speaker and student travel).
2) Josh will need the following documentation: current agenda, letter of invitation, attention to diversity; evaluation plans.
Josh will provide more specific details in the next couple of days. All of this is easily provided. I share for information.
With very best wishes,
Simon.
