Clement E. O. ONIME is currently the Team Leader, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure in the Information and Communications Technology Section (ICTS) at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), where he also coordinates the team responsible for the internet, communications and computing facilities at the centre. Clement holds a PhD degree from the Ulster University (U.K), as well as, M.Sc. and B.Sc. (First Class Hons.) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo Univesity, Ile-Ife, where he was an academic staff and also the pioneering Network and System Administrator at the Obafemi Awolowo University Network (OAUNET) of what was the first Campus wide wireless network in Africa with integrated VSAT connectivity. Recently, he has taught graduate level course at the Addis Ababa University AAU), Ethiopia and African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Nigeria on parallel programming and high performance clusters for engineers and also actively supports a joint M.Sc. course on High Performance Computing for Science, Technology and Engineering in Trieste, Italy. His current research areas include high performance computing, computer networking, cloud computing, internet resources & services, green computing, e-learning, engineering education augmented reality, virtual and remote labs, mathematical modelling for engineering and radio/satellite and digital communications systems.
