Trained as molecular biologist Prof. Dr. Doris Wedlich focused her research on signal transduction in cell differentiation and cancerogenesis (1991-2011). When she moved to research management in 2012 she got responsible for astro- and particle physics at KIT which hosts a tier-1 centre for CERN. Impressed how huge amounts of data are shared and re-used by physicists she actively got involved in research data management. Today heading the division Biology, Chemistry and Process Engineering she is engaged to support efficient and effective data management in materials research and life sciences. 2013 she joined the Council of the Research Data Alliance. Since 2014 she is member of the German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures with focus on international networking.
