Jon Johnson

Data Management and Metadata specialist working at the UK Data Archive leading the infrastructure strand of the EPSRC funded Smart Meter Research Portal. I also provide technical oversight and leadership on the development of the CLOSER Metadata Search Platform (www.discovery.closer.ac.uk) being developed as part of the CLOSER collaboration between eight of the UK's birth cohorts and longitudinal studies. I am the Vice-Chair of the DDI Alliance Technical Committee, and am responsible for documentation on current (3.x) and forthcoming (DDI4) versions of the DDI standard. I am also currently co-chair of the European DDI Conference (http://www.eddi-conferences.eu/ocs/index.php/eddi/index). I have previously worked as a senior developer in software houses in the insurance and banking sectors and also in the civil service.
