Graduated and postgraduated as Civil Engineer in Surveying and Automation in Geodesy at the Budapest Technical University in 1968. After excercised in topographic field work and computer aided design in water management he joined the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI) in 1980 and became Head of the Image Processing Laboratory of the Remote Sensing Center. Invited to the Department of Land Administration and Geoinformation at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 1986. Some of his schoolarships include Rijkswaterstaat, ITC and the Delft University of Technology in 1974, IIT Bombay, ISRO SAC and NRSA in India in 1986, ESA Alpbach Summer School in 1989, USDA RSRL, NASS and SCS in (1992), civil servant trainingship at the DG Information Technology of the European Commission in 1994.
