I studied biology at the University of Freiburg, did my PhD at the ETH Zurich with a focus on DNA repair mechanism and chromatin, and worked as a postdoc at the University of Cambridge on DNA replication initiation. All my scientific career stages dealt with cancer research, which finally brought me to the DKFZ Heidelberg. Before I took over the management of the HMC (Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration) Hub Health in November 2020, I coordinated projects for the digitization and analysis of clinical and molecular data at the DKFZ Heidelberg.
