Ir. Régis Hocdé is research engineer working in the ‘MARine Biodiversity, Exploitation and Conservation’ research unit (MARBEC Univ Montpellier, CNRS, Ifremer, IRD, Montpellier, France). His expertise lies in the observatory systems, scientific information systems management and data science. He managed the development of efficient infrastructures for managing large and diverse data sets, standards, interoperable information systems, services and tools. He was a ‘research infrastructures and observatories’ national expert for his institute (IRD - French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development), the French authorities (MESRI, AllEnvi…) and some European organizations (ESFRI, GBIF…). He is currently involved (as co-PI) in different international programs (‘ReefTemps’ sensors network in South and West Pacific, ‘Lengguru’ in West Papua Indonesia and ‘Megafauna’ on the global ocean) at the crossroads of ecology and marine biology, omic data production, observation systems and data dissemination management.
