Dr Idris Feltkamp Sulaiman works for the eResearch Support Group for South-East Asia as Coordinator. Prior to this work, he worked as the ASEAN Researcher on the Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI) project which is a development cooperation programme funded by the EU to conduct the mapping of ASEAN HPC capacity, their related research infrastructures and policy orientations as well as to support the ASEAN HPC Taskforce and ASEAN-EU Experts Group work towards the organisation of resource sharing and access to HPC services at a regional level and between EU and ASEAN. Previously he worked also on an Australia-Indonesia HPC/research infrastructure collaboration initiative led by the Foundation 1945 based in Jakarta. Idris has a diverse background, having worked in academic and research, consulting and teaching in green energy (maturity modelling, buildings and data centres), information technology and economic development. He has worked in academia, government and the private enterprise in Australia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Japan and Korea. He has a PhD in economics of technology, has authored/co-authored research articles, and has been awarded grants and part of projects from bodies including the EU-Directorate of Research and Innovation (RTD), Asian Development Bank, US Agency for International Development, Japan International Cooperation Agency and the World Bank.
