My Ph.D. is in biological sciences, with emphasis on insect molecular ecology; I also have previous professional experience in both materials science and IT. I'm now an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow, and my placement is in the National Science Foundation, Computer & Information Science & Engineering Directorate, Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure. I'm interested in the impact of the GDPR and similar regulations on international collaborations, and more broadly, in the promotion and funding of collaborative research and data sharing as public goods.
