I initially trained and worked as a biomedical scientist in diagnostic haematology. on migration to Australia I moved into medical research to develop biobanking programs. I was an ISBER Board Member for 6 years and on many ISBER committees and working groups, including co-chairing the 2013 ISBER meeting in Sydney. I am also a board member of the Asian Network of Research Resource Centres and chair the Standards Australia Mirror Committee for ISO 276. Recently, I worked with NSW Health Pathology for 3 years on a range of projects to improve quality and practices of biobanking statewide. These include development of a Biobank certification program, evaluation of practices within pathology laboratories and trialing workflows to improve efficiencies, and standardisation of key documentation state-wide. Concurrently I also led a major capital project to build and commission the NSW State-wide biobank facility which opened in late 2017. I am currently employed as Biobank Advisor at the Westmead Research Hub helping to develop a sustainable operating framework for the Biobanks. I also work as a program manager for the Dr Liang Voice Program based at Sydney University and am interested in sharing data on voice and laryngeal surgical outcomes
