Paolo Tagliolato is a postdoc fellow by the Institute of Marine Science (ISMAR) and the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and member of LifeWatch Italy ICT working group. Since 2015, he has been italian representative in the European Commission INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation temporary sub-group on Download Services for Observation Data (MIWP-7a).
He graduated in Mathematics at the State University of Milan. At the same university he completed the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in the area of multimedia information retrieval.
His research focused on information retrieval, spatial analysis of cellular network data for urban applications (at the Politechnic of Milan), semantic spatial data infrastructures and environmental data management with open geospatial standards (at CNR) and he is currently focussing on the development of Virtual Research Environments in the context of LifeWatch e-infrastructure.
