Permanent researcher at the Institute of Biometeorology - National Research Council (IBIMET - CNR). Since 2010 member of Scientific and Technical Committee of Tuscany Region La.M.M.A Consortium (LAboratory for Monitoring and Environmental Modelling for the sustainable development). Scientific and technical coordinator of research projects on ICT and Geomatics applications in agriculture and urban contexts. In the last years she focused her interests on building blocks for national SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure) and Web GIS applications using Open Source solutions. Currently she is Project Manager of IBIMET SensorWeb Hub Infrastructure for open access to research data http://www.sensorwebhub.org and of the Climate Services Portal. Scientific coordinator and instructor of IBIMET training programmes for WMO ( World Meteorological Organisation ) Regional Meteorological Training Centre of Region VI in Florence, National Meteorological and Technical Service of Sahelian countries, CSE (Centre de Suivi Ecologique, Dakar-Senegal), World Bank, FAO and EU Summer School COST719. From 2001 to 2006 National Delegate of EU COST Action 719 "GIS Application in meteorology and climatology". Scientific and technical coordinator of customized GIS developments, user-friendly GIS software and WebGIS applications for monitoring agricultural season to support the meteorological and national early warning services for food security in sub-Saharan countries. From 1995 to 2001 expert GIS of WMO- U.N. in Sahelian countries. She has developed a GIS based Land System Analysis et Circumstantial System Analysis for the determination of agricultural et pastoral risk zones of Sahel region in the framework of Famine Early Warning System. She is author or co-author of numerous publications, among which there are several papers on national et international refereed journals, and contributions to international conferences and workshops.
