Event date: 23 March 2018
Event time: 14:00 - 17:00
Event Goal and structure
The goal is to get the audience acquainted with the specifics of the OpenAIRE infrastructure and services, and to initiate a dialogue on how OpenAIRE services and RDA WG activities can better work together to accelerate the work towards the realization of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The structure of the event will have three parts:
- The first part intends to present OpenAIRE infrastructure and its services, both the human and technical aspects to the audience. We will focus on the openness and connectivity of research, what this means in terms of data interoperability, service interoperation and support/training structures within the EU and global infrastructure ecosystem. (45 mins presentation, including Q/A).
- The second part will be an interactive session to facilitate the discussion with the RDA audience on how they view the RDA WG/IGs work and outcomes fit specifically into the OpenAIRE services, but also to the envisioned EOSC. This session will be assisted by the use of realtime web tools. (30 mins)
- The third part will have some break-out sessions (# and topics tbc) to discuss with the RDA audience what are the necessary actions to take within RDA to promote synergies and adoptions for an efficient and faster realization of open science practices.
Target Audience: researchers and research communities, research infrastructure operators and policy makers, libraries, research data management experts and service providers, scholarly communication service providers, research administrators, funders, open science experts
