The Virtual Plenary 17 Organising Committee is taking you to Scotland!

We may not be able to fly you to Edinburgh for VP17, but we are bringing Scotland to your living room! The RDA VP17 organisers have planned a number of social activities to introduce you to the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, teach you the basics of Scots language (it will be just like you're here!), as well as much Ceilidh dancing, as promised

All times below in UTC

Tuesday 20 April 2021, 9.30 - 10.15 - Whit is Scots? - An introduction

Facilitator: Laura Green, Scots Language Centre

Join us for a short introduction to Scots, one of the three native languages spoken in Scotland today. This session will introduce Scots and teach you some basic phrases that you can show off on your next trip to Scotland!

Wednesday 21 April 2021, 11.45 - 12.45 RDA meets Edinburgh Fringe - Stuart Goldsmith

Get a taste of Edinburgh Fringe with our lunch time live comedy set by Stuart Goldsmith. Stuart has been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe for years and we are looking forward to providing you with some laughter as a side to your lunch!

Thursday 22 April 2021, 14.15 - 15.00 Ceilidh

Facilitator: Patricia Herterich

Put on your dancing shoes and join us for a virtual ceilidh with the Nevis ceilidh band! This session will feature ceilidh couple dances and we will talk you through dancing along for your daily exercise. You can also just join us to listen to some traditional ceilidh music.
