Meeting objectives: 

Objectives of this session are to continue working on our CoP roadmap, introduce new agricultural data networks and discuss additional participation, share knowledge such as reporting from the second annual virtual meeting of the group, inform about our participation in WorldFAIR initiative, and hear from relevant working groups.

Target Audience: 

IGAD members and any other RDA members interested in the agricultural domain and how agricultural issues intersect with other RDA groups and their domains.

Brief introduction describing the activities and scope of the group: 

IGAD is a domain-oriented group working on all issues related to global agriculture data. It represents stakeholders in managing data for agricultural research and innovation, including producing, aggregating and consuming data. Beyond this, IGAD promotes good practices in research with regard to data sharing policies, data management plans and data interoperability, and it is a forum for sharing experience and providing visibility to research and work in agricultural data. IGAD has held webinars and physical and virtual sessions extending work happening during RDA plenary meetings.

Short Group Status: 

IGAD was established as an Interest Group in 2013 and transitioned to be a Community of Practice in 2022.
