ADMP now an Interest Group
Dear all in case you have not noticed, the ADMP BoF posts and membership have been moved into an Interest Group. Helen, David and I updated the case statement. The 200 word limit does restrict the details that can be put in but I believe that we've included the points that were made. WHile not perfect it at least scopes out an area of interest which we can work with.1 | Add new comment

RE: [rda-datamanagplans] Draft cae statement for ADMP Interest Group
by Sarah Jones
Hi David, all, I agree that the more we can make DMPs 'active' so they're updated and monitored the better. There are a couple of examples from funders where they expect DMPs to evolve. See for example NERC, which has an outline DMP at the grant proposal stage and a full plan post-award that is created by the data centres together with the PI. The Horizon 2020 open data pilot meanwhile asks for DMPs as a project deliverable that should evolve to gain more precision and substance during the lifespan of the project.0 | Add new comment

Please excuse any duplication of the following call for papers and feel free to share it with your colleagues. - - - - - The peer-reviewed Journal of Map & Geography Libraries (JMGL) is inviting submissions for a special issue on geospatial data management, curation, and preservation. Geospatial data are valuable resources and must be managed, curated, and preserved to ensure that they can be used and will be useful for a variety of purposes in the future. Articles are invited for this0 | Add new comment
Active Data Management Plans Group
The reason for thinking that this topic may be of interest is that Data Management Plans are increasingly mentioned and are in many cases required by funders. However these are static documents which do not evolve, cannot be tested and cannot be enforced. Yet planning managing and preserving data in a planned way is essential to the aims of the RDA. Therefore the aims, which were discussed and updated during the BoF session are as follows:0 | Add new comment
