Re: [rda-covid19][rda-covid19-epidemiology] rda-covid19-epidemiology rds general - Work organization - Issues / Shortcomings

by James Hetherington

* Documents: Sometimes I see a very generic approach to documents * Example: "Good practices for Research Software" -> Is such a document our goal as many have thought and published about this topic. This scope is not specific to any single group here or COVID-19. Would we succeed in creating something better in a few days? I am not certain!

Re: [rda-covid19][rda-covid19-epidemiology] rda-covid19-epidemiology rds general - Work organization - Issues / Shortcomings

Claire: I was hoping we might come up with a set of tags that are of value particularly when it comes to COVID-19 dataset search. As part of DDI and CODATA we have been working with the Google Dataset Search folks. Perhaps we could enter into a discussion with them on Google Dataset Search filters. In any event, if you decide to go in the direction Carsten is proposing, I would be happy to participate. rda-covid19-epidemiology rds general - Work organization - Issues / Shortcomings

by Carsten Oliver Schmidt

Dear Claire, dear all, it is great to see all the enthusiasm aroud the cooperation on improving COVID-19 related research. A lot of wonderful work and expertise is organized within RDA. Participating in the Epi group I would like to point to some challenges I currently perceive. _Beforehand, as I do not take part in all discussions, sorry if some of this has been mentioned elsewhere or if I did overlook something!_ My concerns are mainly related to some lack of guidance on the documents and overviews to be created.

Re: [rda-covid19] How to join the Zotero RDA-COVID19 Group Library

by Claire Austin

If your computer is blocking you from installing the Zotero desktop app on your computer, use the Zotero library via the Web only. Remedies for unblocking installation of the Zotero desktop app on your computer: * If you do not have ‘administrator privileges’ on your computer, you will not be able to do the installation. Ask the person who does have ‘administrator privileges’ to do it for you. In a corporate environment, contact your IT help desk;

Re: How to join the Zotero RDA-COVID19 Group Library

by Claire Austin

Hi Andrea, Did you add your Zotero username or email to the "Zotero group member list" document in the RDA-COVID19 Google drive?If you're having difficulty with that, please ask your subWG moderator to do that for you. Since, the Zotero RDA-COVID19 WG group library is private, you won't be able to join the group directly from the Web as is the case for public Zotero libraries. Once your email is added to the Google doc, above, we will add it to the Zotero group and you will receive an email invitation from Zotero to join the group. Cheers, Claire

Hi Andrea, Are you able to access Zotero on the Web without doing a local install? All the references are stored in the Cloud. Cheers, Claire Sent from my iPhone

Please add me to the list of members in the COVID19 WG spread sheet

by Monday ADIAHA

Dear Distinguish RDA COVID19 WG, I notice I was not added to any group. But I added my name and group in it earlier when announcement was made. I have made a huge literature search which I believe will assist in the RDA COVID19 WG work. Please, added me to it.
