FOSS4G 2018 Travel Grants 

This might be of interest. FOSS4G 2018 LOC are holding a second round of grants specifically designed to support a diversity of participation at our FOSS4G 2018 conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. If you would benefit from financial assistance we encourage you to apply. We are particularly interested in welcome African women to the event. We will provide free registration, lodging and if needed, up to $200 USD to support your travel to Dar es Salaam.

On behalf of the RDA [1] Interest Group on Agricultural Data (IGAD) [2], we are pleased to invite you to the IGAD pre-conference meeting focussing on "Data collection in Africa: State of the art, challenges and solutions", that will be held on November 5-6, in Gaborone, Botswana. The event will take place during the International Data Week (IDW), November 5-8, 2018 [3] which combines the 12th RDA Plenary Meeting and SciDataCon 2018.

INSPIRE Hack

Dear all,
Plan4all will again organize INSPIRE Hack. This is Hackathon focused more on professionals, than students and this group. See the concept http://ijsdir.jrc.ec.europa.eu/index.php/ijsdir/article/download/481/429.
This is the third year of the INSPIRE Hackathon. The workshop aims to present the hackathon results and award the best projects. The hack will start before the conference already in July 2018. The hackathon itself and the team work will be done remotely.

RDA Twelfth Plenary Meeting - Gaborone, Botswana 2018 - Who is going to attend?

RDA/IGAD chairs will start to organize the IGAD Meeting(s) in Gaborone (Botswana) November 2018 in the next days. As a first step, we would be interested to know how many people from the Interest Group would be attending the RDA Plenary.
