July 2014 for RDA marks just 16 months since its official launch and indeed just 1 year since RDA’s collaborative web platform (www.rd-alliance.org) was launched and individuals officially signed up as members and accepted our guiding principles and more importantly, began collaboratively and virtually co-operating together. As RDA is currently formalizing a relationship with the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), an international effort to build a Global Earth Observation System of Systems. GEO chief Barbara Ryan calls RDA’s work “essential” and believes that “a strong partnership between GEO and RDA is a key ingredient to both organizations accomplishing their respective missions.”

CLARIN is one of the two big humanities pan-European research infrastructures on the ESFRI roadmap with global ambitions, expected to expand rapidly in the near future. It currently has about 25 centres in 10 countries and the number is growing. As the current Executive Director is retiring, CLARIN is looking for an inspiring person to continue this successful enterprise and lead it to the next level.
