Meeting title: Working meeting: Repository Platforms for Research Data
Please give a short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group
Originally proposed as a WG with an 18-month deliverable timeframe, the Repository Platforms for Research Data Interest Group (RPRD IG) was officially launched at Plenary 5 in the spring of 2015. We are nearing completion of the original deliverable, a matrix relating institution-level use cases with functional requirements for research data repository platforms.
Please provide additional links to informative material related to your group i.e. group page, Case statement, working documents etc
The RPRD IG case statement, documents from the IG's work, Use Case Dissemination schedule, Related Work and more can be found via https://rd-alliance.org/groups/repository-platforms-research-data.html.
Please list the meeting objectives
We will present the final draft of the matrix of use cases and functional requirements, along with an accompanying narrative document that describes its development, with the goal of finalizing both at this plenary meeting. See the following agenda for more details.
Meeting agenda
1.) review of the RPRD IG's work to date, and associated challenges encountered and addressed;
2.) agree on finishing and publishing the originally proposed matrix, along with documentating narrative;
3.) ask attending self-nominees for the two new co-chair positions to introduce themselves;
4.) introduce the new Repository Interoperability WG that was spun off from this IG, and brainstorm any other WGs that might be generated by this IG. Those could include a WG to review existing repository platform products against the functional requirements in the matrix published by this IG; a WG to work on a future updated edition of that matrix; and a WG to launch a survey to gather more input on functional requirements for research data repository platforms.
Audience: Please specify who is your target audience and how they should prepare for the meeting
The target audience consists of those who have engaged with, or at least closely followed, the
RPRD IG's work up to this meeting, and have reviewed the matrix at http://doi.org/10.17606/M67P43.
