Publishing data is a new and strong incentive for scientist to share their data and has positive effects on the data quality. For data centres, science publishers, and service providers it is a challenge in terms of organization and technical developments. Existing and evolving standards and services need to be adopted by stakeholders and be made productive as a distributed and interoperable infrastructural framework. Spanning the publication workflow from data submission, editorial, archiving, and dissemination the session will focus on citability, findability, and usability of data. Particular topics will be general and special workflow requirements and implications for stakeholders, requirements for citation standards and emerging bibliometric services, current and projected services for cross-linking data, literature, authors, and institutions. Particular focus here will be on persistent identifiers including DOI, ORCID etc...
Finally, the session will outline the current and projected landscape of data discovery on the background of the various existing and emerging services and platforms. Besides collaboration with other RDA and ICSU WDS working group the session will build on the input from the EU H2020 projects THOR (http://project-thor.eu/) and OpenAIRE (https://www.openaire.eu/).
