Meeting title: Second meeting of the Global Water Information Interest Group
Please give a short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group
The Global Water Information Interest Group (GWIIG) will serve as a platform leading to formation of RDA working groups; as a venue for communication among RDA WGs and IGs focused on both technical eInfrastructure aspects (e.g. vocabs, brokering, metadata and catalogs, dynamic data citation) and on related research domains (e.g. geosciences, agriculture, biodiversity); and as a coordination mechanism across a wide group of water information stakeholders, in particular those not previously involved in the OGC/WMO water standardization work (WaterML2).
Please provide additional links to informative material related to your group i.e. group page, Case statement, working documents etc

Please list the meeting objectives
- Continue discussion of dynamic data citation use cases within the water domain.
- Discuss use cases for water domain vocabs, ahead of a BoF on domain vocabs
- Discuss examples and best practice in water quality / chemistry
- Develop these ideas in relation to a future WG
Meeting agenda
1. Follow-up discussion on dynamic data citation
Dynamic data citation in the UK National River Flow Archive
CUAHSI’s management of data citation
Other use cases for dynamic data citation in the water domain
2. Focus on hydrologic vocabularies and linked data (possibly together with vocab and chemistry IGs)
Vocabularies for water chemistry
Concept of hydrologic variables
3. Water quality / chemistry best practice
Examples and best practice in water quality / chemistry, including examples from UK linked data service for water chemistry (http://environment.data.gov.uk/water-quality/view/landing)
4. Next steps for the GWIIG
Audience: Please specify who is your target audience and how they should prepare for the meeting
Anyone with an interest in hydrological data for research, or the challenges faced in this domain. Use cases relating to the above objectives, or examples of existing work in this area, would be very useful. Other suggestions of areas for the group to focus on in future would also be welcome (please email suggestions to the chair).
