my knowhow might be a bit rusty, but if the tracking topic is most interesting for you, a joint session with the data usage metrics group (https://www.rd-alliance.org/groups/data-usage-metrics-wg) would be a suggestion. Make data count (https://makedatacount.org/) is another project which might be a good place to find interesting input and lessons learned (people involved overlap to my knowledge). I have a chapter (chapter 3) in my dissertation discussing downsides of event-based metrics (https://doi.org/10.5282/edoc.28346), maybe you find something worth a thought there.
