Dear Laura,
Many thanks for your quick reply. The activities of the EMMC that are related to the WG are as follows:
* A definition of materials modelling terminology as well as classification and metadata (so called MODA) to capture all aspects of a simulation. It is based on a European Commission review of materials modelling which has been going on for several years and included more than 100 projects and has led to a CEN Workshop Agreement which we just finalised (will be published in the CEN website in its final form very soon. You can see the draft at the link at the bottom of my signature. See also presentation http://emmc.info/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/EMMC_IntOp2017_Cambridge_deB... and about a MODA portal: http://emmc.info/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/EMMC_IntOp2017-Cambridge_Has...
* A draft European Materials Modelling Ontology (EMMO), which includes a high level taxonomy also for materials. See presentation here: http://emmc.info/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/EMMC_IntOp2017-Cambridge_Ghe...
* Also, the EMMC and two EU projects are starting to develop a Marketplace that includes significant activities the digitalised infrastructure for materials and materials modelling.
In the area of the EMCC, there is also starting activity for example in the context of a new project called Oyster (I cc the coordinator Marco Sebastiani and a project and EMCC partner Chris Eberl). Activities include working towards a classification, taxonomy and ontology for characterisation, similar to that and linked with that in modelling.
I would be happy to interact further regarding the development of the session.
Best regards
Gerhard
P.S. Re the final report of the WG you mentioned, would it be possible to see and comment on a draft of that?

Dear Gerhard,
Thank you for joining the IMRR WG and the WG will host a session at the upcoming RDA P11 in Berlin.
We welcome the participation of EMMC & EMCC at the session (time hasn’t been set yet) and in developing the agenda.
So far, the tentative agenda plans to include a review of the final report of the WG to be submitted to RDA as well as possible next steps to expand participation in the Materials Resource Registries. Perhaps this would be of interest to either or both EMMC & EMCC?
What areas might you be interested in engaging? Is there anything that either or both EMMC & EMCC would like to present at the session? Would you be interested in helping develop the agenda for the session?
Again, thanks for your interest and we look forward to your participation in the session at P11.
Best,
Laura

Dear All,
What are the plans for the Materials Data Working/Interest Groups for breakout sessions at the next RDA plenary? I would like to coordinate a participation of EMMC and hopefully also EMCC, i.e. the modelling and characterisation councils.
Best wishes
Gerhard
