RE: [rda-legalinterop-ig] [rda-legalinterop-ig] Revised Legal Interoperability Principles--redlined

17 Feb 2015

Thanks, Bernard. I did not mean that we should endorse every statement in all these references. However, I do think it is one of the relevant "statements, declarations, principles" that we can list as examples of previous work on open access, open data. We can have a suitable intro sentence to all the links in the list. The important point is that the Legal Interoperability Principles are somewhat different from the previous ones.
Cheers,
Paul

Some of these statements are actually very strong. (e.g. right to mine). It does not bother me, but it might bother others! Bernard

Dear colleagues,
Of possible interest to our group may be the recently released draft of the Hague Declaration, whose sponsors are now asking for reactions and comments. The focus is Access to Facts, Data and Ideas for Knowledge Discovery in the Digital Age:

Very encouraging (and reflective of our own group’s principles!)
All best,
Gail

Dear colleagues:
Attached are the revised Principles. Please have them available for the call this Friday or submit written comments. I did not revise the google.doc yet. Instructions on accessing the Friday conference call were sent by Simon Hodson to this listserv on Monday.
Best wishes,
Paul
