Dear Colleagues,
Attached are the updated Legal Principles, based on comments made by the participants on the call last Friday, the 9th. They do not include revisions based on Christoph Bruch's emails on January 12. A preliminary list of participants on the Friday call was: Donat Agosti, Christoph Bruch, Bob Chen, Gail Clement, Willi Egloff, Maria Llosent, Bernard Minster, and Paul Uhlir. Please check whether I have left anyone off or gotten a name wrong.
The revised Legal Principles, which are also now posted on our Group Wiki, constitute my notes from the call. Since I was moderator of the conversation, I was unable to take detailed notes. We need to have a designated note taker on future calls to capture more details of the conversation.
The next call will be at the same time, 9:00 a.m. EST on Friday, January 16. Additional logistical information will be provided by this Thursday. In the meantime, please either send your suggestions by email to the group or post them directly on the Group Wiki.
Thanks,
Paul

Dear colleagues
Thank you, Paul, very much for this doucment. I am still a bit worried
about the importance of commercial interests in withholding data
resulting from public funded research. I have tried to put some
suggestions into the document.
