Dear colleagues:
We will have our first conference call on developing the draft Legal Principles for Research Data this Friday, Dec. 12, at 10:00 a.m. US Eastern Time. I have uploaded on our RDA website a cleaned up draft that was iterated at the group's Oct 21 meeting in Washington, DC. You can find it by clicking on the "Group Wiki" button on the Legal Interoperability IG home page, and then on the "Legal Principles for Data" link in the middle of the page.
You can "Edit" the document and put in comments prior to the conference call. During the call itself I will ask one person on our group to serve as rapporteur and record notes from the group call. Others can add to that as well. I will take the notes and produce the next version of the Legal Principles. We will have subsequent weekly calls, beginning on Friday, January 9, so that we can hopefully complete the Legal Principles prior to the RDA P5 in San Diego on March 9-11.
I will send an agenda and conferencing instructions for the call itself this Thursday, Dec 11. Again, please provide your remarks on the Group Wiki prior to the call.
Thanks, and regards,
Paul
