Purpose
To provide information about what TAB has been discussing. The information will be a mix of monthly agenda summaries and reports to Council
Background
One of the RDA Principles is Openness. TAB would like to honour this principle as far as possible, within the boundaries of individual privacy.
One of TAB’s primary tasks, for example, is to evaluate Case Statements and these can be regarded as proposal reviews.
We believe that the internal discussion among TAB members and with the Case Statement authors should be regarded as private until the review is complete and the Case Statement is approved or rejected.
At the same time, Secretariat is very constrained in the support it can currently offer TAB to support a more open approach.
This page represents what is possible now with the available resources. TAB will review this if the support from Secretariat changes.

2. P14 preparation
- Review and scheduling of session proposals
- Contacts continuing with the session proposers. The response was very positive with constructive discussions. Reading session proposals gives an excellent overview of the activities and progress on-going in the RDA, and of possible new ones which will be discussed in the BoFs. This will be a great Plenary, once again!
- Comments on the scheduling proposed by the Secretariat.
- Confirmation that as discussed, there will be no TAB/Chair meeting at P14. It appeared during the Cologne Chair meeting (26-28 June) that there was a need to gather more chairs to discuss the topics, and TAB offered the Chairs to use the TAB/Chair meeting slot for a meeting organised by the Chairs. TAB will be invited to attend and participate.

- Suggestion to have a RDA github accessible to the Groups
7. Topics from "historical" Groups possibly relevant to existing Groups
- The Secretariat recently updated the list of "historical" Groups. TAB begun to discuss whether it would be useful to identify whether some activities of these "historical" Groups are addressed by active Groups, and if it is the case, how it could be done.

- Social Science Research Data IG (was Social Science and Humanities Research Data IG), revised case statement
- Research Metadata Schemas WG

2. P14 preparation
- Review of session proposals
- The two meetings held on 11 July were devoted to the review of the P14 session proposals. TAB members had been invited to post comments before the meetings (see June activity report below). Most session proposals were accepted, many with comments to suggest improvements. A few required further discussion with the proposers. A TAB contact was identified for each proposal, in general the TAB liaison for Group sessions, one of the TAB liaisons for Joint Sessions, and one of the co-chairs for BoFs. Contacts were tasked to get in touch with the proposers.
- The meeting held on 25 July went through the status of the sessions which required further discussion with the proposers.
- There will be no TAB/Chair meeting at P14. It appeared during the Cologne Chair meeting (26-28 June) that there was a need to gather more chairs to discuss the topics, and TAB offered the Chairs to use the TAB/Chair meeting slot for a meeting organised by the Chairs. TAB will be invited to attend and participate.
- The status of session scheduling was assessed. TAB was invited to review a draft schedule during the period 26 July-5 August.
- No TAB debrief in Helsinki after the Plenary. The debrief will be done by teleconference.

- Liaison is established with other relevant Groups
- IG and WG sessions: the WG or IG status and current activities are briefly explained and the session content is relevant
