Dear RDA ETHRD-IG members,
I am happy to announce the appointment of a new co-chair to the group, Rob
Quick. Rob serves as the manager of the High Throughput Computing at
Indiana University, Research Technologies and has spent much of the last 15
years in providing training to researchers in the access and use of compute
resources. Rob has further demonstrated his interest in education and
training on the handling of research data through his participation as
co-organizer and lecturer in the African School of Fundamental Physics
(ASP) and as co-director of the CODTA/RDA School of Research Data Science
for Low and Middle Income Countries. Please join me in welcoming Rob to
this new position.
[NB: What about the election? It was evident in reviewing the limited slate
of nominees that Rob was the singular candidate that maintained regional
and disciplinary balance among the chairs. Given this, a full election
process was not deemed warranted.]
I am also happy to remind you that it is plenary-session-proposal time! We
are putting our heads together, and would like to hear from you. What would
make the Berlin ETHRD-IG session useful for you? What would you like to
hear about? What would you like to get done?
Best,
Amy
