    Hello group members,
The Data policy standardisation and implementation IG has a session coming up next Tuesday June 21st at RDA Plenary 19 – please join us if you can!
Our session on Exploring features and improving standards for data availability statements will be looking at the ways that authors describe the availability of their research data when drafting research articles; whether the information they provide is useful to different stakeholders; and how these statement might be improved.
We have three excellent speakers lined up to address this topic:
    * Use cases for high quality data availability statements: Aki MacFarlane, Open Research Specialist, Wellcome
    * What is the current state of availability statements?: Leho Tedersoo, author “Data sharing practices and data availability upon request differ across scientific disciplines”
    * DAS and PID integration – what, why and how?: Rachael Lammey, Head of Special Programs, CrossRef
We’ll finish with an interactive exercise where the group can consider the current “state” of data availability statements, and what additional information we think authors should provide.
Hoping to see you there, but the session will be recorded and notes taken and shared following the meeting.
    Best regards,
    Dr. Rebecca Grant
