First RDA Unconference at P13: RDA February Newsletter is Out!

RDA Unconference/Do-a-thon at P13

In response to the ongoing conversations about our potential to do more and be more effective as "researchers and innovators openly share data across technologies, disciplines, and countries to address the grand challenges of society", we are trial-running the first RDA unconference at P13.  We hope this will result in; greater numbers of and new collaborations; more interoperability between groups, fields, and data; more open and FAIR data; and more recommendation adoption sucesses within and without of RDA.  All members of the community are welcome to come explore what everyone else is working on, get inspired, find new collaborators, and save yourself time and money discovering great work others have already done, at RDA's first mini unconference/do-athon. Discover more and sign up for the Unconference here

Discipline Focus:

Looking for discipline focused support? There's an RDA EU Ambassador here to Help You!

Agricultural sciences, Engineering, Earth Sciences or High energy physics, these are just a set of the domains that have Ambassadors appointed under the umbrella of the recently launched RDA Europe Ambassadors programme. The initiative brings together distinguished and well-connected domain experts who are working to develop a two-way communication and engagement channel, promoting RDA outputs and perspectives on one hand while streamlining insights and practical contributions from domain focused data communities into the work of RDA, on the other.

The Ambassadors facilitate an open dialogue with data practitioners and organisations working in domain specific areas. The activities will focus on the highlighting the value of RDA and the impact of collaboration for all those involved. A calendar of events, webinars, training sessions and other similar activities will be made available shortly to support interaction. In the meantime, if you are interested in the RDA EU Ambassadors programme and would like to get in touch with any of our ambassadors please contact us at

A regular conference attender's experience of an unconference.

I've attended a few conferences in my time, but have only had limited exposure to the unconference way of doing things. So when I heard that the IDCC Conference in Melbourne this month was having an entire unconference day, I signed up immediately.
