Dear all,
as discussed in the monthly meetings, we want to submit the PIDINST
metadata schema as an RDA recommendation. For that purpose, we
decided to expand the simple table of the schema properties into a
complete document describing and defining the schema, as this is the
intended form of the submission.
I now started to formulate a draft for that document, see PR #57 in
our GitHub repository [1]. It is not yet complete. Most notably, the
mapping of the schema onto DataCite and a definition of all the terms
in the controlled list of values is still missing. See the PR for the
full TODO list.
Nevertheless, I'd like to invite you to have a look at the draft and
to provide feedback and suggestions for improvements already at this
stage. A PDF version of the current draft is available [2], as well
as a Google Doc [3]. The latter is shared in suggestion mode, because
we need to keep track of all suggested changes.
Best regards,
Rolf

Dear all,
as you might already know from the last announcement, we are preparing
to submit the PIDINST metadata schema as an RDA recommendation. We
prepared a draft for the recommendation document, see PR #57 in our
GitHub repository [1]. This week, that draft has been substantially
expanded and is now mostly ready. There is still some final polishing
to do and still some discussions on formulation details ongoing,
though.
Some of you already provided very useful comments and feedback, many
thanks for that! Nevertheless, given the progress of the draft, I'd
like to invite once again you to have a look and to provide feedback
and suggestions. A PDF version of the current draft is available [2],
as well as a Google Doc [3]. The latter is shared in suggestion mode,
because we need to keep track of all suggested changes.
Best regards,
Rolf
